About the Role

The Labour Hire Authority is seeking a highly skilled Principal Compliance Officer to lead our Compliance Program. As a key member of our Intelligence, Compliance and Enforcement Division, you will be responsible for developing and executing elements of our Compliance Program, with a focus on high-risk industries and harms.

Key Responsibilities

• Develop and lead complex investigations into non-compliance with the Labour Hire Licensing Act, including legal obligations under workplace, taxation, superannuation and health and safety laws.
• Provide expert advice, guidance and direction to compliance officers conducting investigations and support them to gather evidence, draft reports and make sound recommendations in relation to licensing decisions or enforcement action that are consistent with our strategic objectives.
• Lead small teams to conduct field inspections and operations, and engage with various stakeholders to educate and influence compliance.

About You

We are looking for a critical thinker, enthusiastic and self-motivated individual who is passionate about developing people and leading compliance and enforcement activities. You will have experience in a government and/or regulator context, and be keen to contribute to improving employment conditions of vulnerable workers. This is a flexible work location opportunity with the option of working in the Melbourne CBD or Bendigo.
