About the Role

We are seeking a skilled Desktop Engineer to provide technical support and maintenance for our organisation's desktop computing environment.

The ideal candidate will have a strong background in desktop support, troubleshooting, and a passion for delivering exceptional customer service.

Key Responsibilities
  • Provide high-level face-to-face as well as phone and email support to customer staff on-site in Tasmania and in other offices nationally.
  • Install, configure, and troubleshoot hardware and software components on desktops and laptops.
  • Collaborate with end-users to resolve technical issues in a timely and efficient manner.
  • Perform routine maintenance tasks, including updates, patches, and system upgrades.
  • Monitor and manage desktop security, ensuring compliance with company policies and standards.
  • Work closely with IT teams to ensure the smooth integration of desktop systems with other infrastructure components.
  • Maintain accurate and up-to-date documentation of desktop configurations, procedures, and troubleshooting steps.
  • Develop and update user guides to empower end-users to resolve common issues independently.
About You

To be successful in this role, you will need:

  • A proven track record as a Desktop Engineer or similar role.
  • Familiarity with hardware components, peripherals, and troubleshooting techniques.
  • Excellent problem-solving and communication skills.
  • A current active Government Security clearance with the ability to obtain and maintain high-level clearance.
