Senior Claim Strategist

This is a high-level position that requires strategic advice, litigation management, and collaboration with internal legal teams and external counsel.
Key Responsibilities:
- Manage end-to-end claims across various liability claims, including professional indemnity, injury, and property liability
- Provide expert advice on policy interpretation, claim resolution, and litigation strategies
- Collaborate with internal stakeholders, panel firms, and counsel to manage complex claims
- Represent the company at mediations, settlement conferences, and court proceedings as required
- Support technical oversight and mentoring within the Specialty claims team
- Develop governance frameworks and reporting for emerging risks and financial impacts
- Align claims strategies across internal stakeholders
- Contribute to process improvements and cost reduction initiatives
- Operate within delegated authority and promote a positive risk culture
Requirements:
- Tertiary qualifications in law, business, or insurance (mandatory)
- Industry qualifications such as Diploma in Financial Services (mandatory)
- 5–10 years' experience managing complex liability or professional indemnity claims
- Litigation experience, including briefing panel firms or direct involvement (mandatory)
- Strong analytical, negotiation, and decision-making skills
- Excellent communication and stakeholder engagement capabilities
- Experience mentoring and developing team members
- Sound knowledge of relevant legislation and claims systems
