Workplace Health and Safety Specialist

We are seeking two highly motivated and experienced professionals to join our school community as a Workplace Health and Safety Officer.
The successful applicants will work closely with the principal and school community to undertake a range of WHS related tasks and duties, including:
- Effective management of safety processes and efficient record keeping
- Undertaking WHS projects as directed by the leadership team
- Following compliance requirements generated through WHS reports
- Undertaking WHS review processes and recommending areas for improvement
- Conducting classroom safety audits, compliance inspections, and providing recommendations
- Assisting and guiding staff on the completion of risk assessments
- Organising WHS induction processes
- Maintaining student health plans
- Providing and supporting site-specific health and safety training, including health and safety inductions, that meets BCE health and safety requirements
- Coordinating the WHS committee on behalf of the principal
- Working closely with BCE WHS staff members
The successful applicant will hold or be prepared to obtain:
- A Senior First Aid Certificate
- Strong IT skills and experience
- A Certificate IV Workplace Health and Safety Certificate
The preferred candidate will possess:
- Proven communication and interpersonal skills
- Safe work practices
- Experience with BCE systems such as Guardian and Compliance Database
- Effective management of safety processes and efficient record keeping
To be eligible for this role, you must:
- Hold a Paid Employee Positive Notice Blue Card prior to commencement
- Be eligible to work in Australia for the duration of the appointment
- Have a commitment to and understanding of the ethos and traditions of Catholic Education
- Have a commitment to Safeguarding
