Electrical Systems Expert Wanted

We are seeking a highly skilled Lead Technical Electrical Engineer to join our team. This is an exciting opportunity for a motivated and experienced professional to take on a challenging role and contribute to the success of our organization.

Job Description:

The successful candidate will be responsible for the design, development, integration, and validation of electrical systems for various projects. This will involve ensuring compliance with relevant industry and regulatory standards, overseeing requirements capture and verification & validation activities, managing work packages, schedules, and budgets, and collaborating with other teams to ensure seamless system integration.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Design and Development: Design, develop, and integrate electrical systems including power distribution, control systems, and communication networks for automotive, defence, and rail applications.
  • Tech Authority: Ensure compliance with relevant industry and regulatory standards as the technical authority for electrical engineering.
  • Requirements Capture and Verification: Oversee requirements capture and verification & validation activities across all project phases.
  • Work Package Management: Manage electrical engineering work packages, schedules, budgets, and technical risks.
  • Cross-Functional Collaboration: Collaborate with mechanical, systems, and software teams to ensure seamless system integration.
  • Design Reviews and Inspections: Conduct design reviews, inspections, and test readiness assessments.
  • Quality, Safety, and Regulatory Compliance: Ensure all engineering activities align with quality, safety, and regulatory requirements.
  • Mentorship and Development: Mentor and develop junior engineers, fostering a culture of technical excellence.
  • Business Development: Support business development activities, including technical proposals and client engagement.

Qualifications:

  • Degree Requirement: Bachelor's degree (or higher) in Electrical or Electronics Engineering.
  • Industry Experience: Proven track record delivering complex electrical systems for automotive, defence, rail industries or relevant industries.
  • Professional Registration: Registered as a Professional Engineer in the area of electrical engineering, as required by the 'Professional Engineers Registration Act 2019'
  • Technical Knowledge: Strong knowledge of relevant technical standards
  • Systems Engineering and V&V: Experience in systems engineering and structured V&V processes.
  • CAD/CAE Tools: Familiarity with CAD/CAE tools for electrical design (e.g., EPLAN, AutoCAD Electrical, NX Electrical or equivalent).
  • Leadership and Communication Skills: Excellent technical leadership, stakeholder engagement, and communication skills.
  • Australian Defence Security Clearance: Eligibility to obtain and maintain Australian Defence Security Clearance (Baseline or NV1).
