Job Role

This role will suit someone looking to work on permanent design and temporary works in a friendly, supportive team with a growing market leader.

The Senior Structural Engineer will be responsible for ensuring high-quality output meets client needs and activities are commercially viable.

  • Producing high-quality documentation and design tasks with a demonstrated working knowledge of approved design software at an advanced level.
  • Applying creativity, foresight, and sound judgment to proactively identify and resolve design challenges.
  • Monitoring and managing project outcomes, addressing issues, dependencies, and deliverables to ensure successful delivery.
  • Leading design efforts on projects, coordinating and mentoring junior staff, and ensuring compliance with company standards and processes.
  • Preparing project fee proposals and managing project budgets and invoicing with accuracy and efficiency.
  • Supporting management in the preparation of tender submissions, including detailed scopes of work and budget estimates.
  • Assisting in business development through tender submissions and identifying new project opportunities.
  • Regular and active engagement with clients and other stakeholders.
  • Contributing to the ongoing development of innovative design practices and detailing.

Requirements

A Bachelor's degree in Civil/Structural Engineering is required, along with 8+ years of structural engineering industry experience.

Maintenance of CPEng Chartered Professional Engineer status and RPEQ professional status is also required.

Advanced working knowledge of structural design software, including SpaceGass, Inducta SLABS, RC Building, and Structural Toolkit, is necessary.

Understanding and application of relevant Australian Standards and structural design principles are essential.

Demonstrated ability to prepare structural, detailed, and concept solutions independently is required.

Efficient time management skills to achieve project deadlines and budgetary constraints are necessary.

A passion for developing leadership skills is also required.

Temporary Works experience and design delivery on key infrastructure projects is beneficial.
