Job Overview

The perioperative team relies heavily on the Scrub Nurse to ensure patient safety and facilitate effective communication among team members.

Key Responsibilities:
  1. Confirm patient identification, consent, and perform time-out as per established policy
  2. Ensure surgical instruments are available and sterile prior to procedures
  3. Scrub in accordance with ACORN standards for aseptic technique
  4. Prepare the surgical setup immediately before procedure commencement
  5. Perform a surgical count with the circulating nurse as per ACORN standards
  6. Anticipate the needs of the surgeon during the procedure
  7. Maintain aseptic technique throughout the surgery
  8. Adhere to safety protocols to prevent injury to patients and staff
  9. Verify accurate legal documentation is completed
  10. Foster expertise in robotics systems for Orthopaedic surgery, specifically Stryker MAKO and Zimmer Biomet ROSA
