About This Opportunity

The Royal Flying Doctor Service's Line Pilots play a vital role in delivering aeromedical services to remote communities.

This challenging and rewarding position involves working as part of a multi-disciplinary team to provide access to essential healthcare services.

A typical day for a Line Pilot is unpredictable, with a diverse range of duties that require strong teamwork, communication, and problem-solving skills.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Flight Operations: Conduct safe and efficient flights, adhering to RFDS procedures and regulations.
  • Teamwork: Collaborate with medical staff, pilots, and support teams to ensure seamless service delivery.
  • Community Engagement: Interact with patients, families, and community members to provide excellent customer service.
  • Professional Development: Maintain and enhance skills through regular training, briefings, and self-directed learning.

Requirements:

  • Australian CPL with ATPL subjects
  • Multi-engine command instrument rating
  • Class 1 Medical
  • Total time - 2500 Hours
  • Total time in command - 2000 Hours
  • Total time in command - multi engine – 500 hours
  • Night experience - 100 Hours
  • Instrument time - 100 Hours
  • Australian citizenship, residency or an approved work visa

Desirable Qualifications:

  • Single Pilot experience
  • Remote area flying experience
  • Preferred 4 instrument proficiency checks
  • Turbine experience is preferred but not required
  • Past experience in working shifts over a 24-hour period
