Electrical Engineering Manager Role

We are seeking an experienced electrical engineering manager to lead our team in delivering innovative solutions for onshore renewable energy projects.

The successful candidate will be responsible for the technical aspects of project development, design, construction, and operation. Key responsibilities include:

  • Preparing technical design tender reports for HV/LV systems up to 500kV
  • Developing primary equipment design deliverables, feasibility studies, reports, programs, and cost estimates for HV substations
  • Working knowledge of transmission and distribution systems, including equipment sizing and protection systems
  • Reviewing HV plant aspects of different projects, including HV layouts, earthing design, and reports
  • Attending design review and hazard review meetings, as well as reviewing HV plant design packages
  • Conducting site visits, factory acceptance tests (FAT), and site acceptance tests (SAT) as required
  • Supporting contractual negotiations with EPC contractors regarding technical areas such as HV electrical engineering, equipment specifications, testing, and switchgears
  • Collaborating with the FEED team to explore possibilities of solar applications in new markets, developing solutions for connecting hybrid/storage generators or complex connections, and incorporating them into the grid
Required Skills and Qualifications
  • Degree or relevant qualification in Electrical Engineering
  • Experience working as a design engineer/manager for a consultancy or TNSP in EHV systems or HV/LV systems
  • Working knowledge of MV/HV equipment, including switchgear, transformers, protections, underground/OH lines, and other MV/HV equipment
  • Extensive field experience of MV/HV deployment and associated good practice installation of such equipment
  • Familiarity with commissioning tests for renewable installations
  • Experience in power systems for renewable installations, including HV substations and control
  • Familiarity with PV industry and PV systems, including inverters, transformers, cabling
  • Familiarity with electrical protections calculations and earthing design for MV and HV systems
  • Familiarity with storage system technologies and strategies for renewable applications
