Key Responsibilities:

In this critical role, you will lead the production maintenance team to ensure Defence ships are maintained according to technical, schedule, and quality requirements.

  • Collaborate with senior managers to guarantee production activities meet technical standards and project deadlines.
  • Oversee daily operations, ensuring compliance with safety regulations and managing subcontractors' adherence to WHS requirements.
  • Identify and address production issues, ensuring timely action on price variations and work package completion.
  • Manage wharf services and coordinate with the High-Risk Safety Contractor to conduct work safely and efficiently.
  • Cultivate effective relationships with Ships Refit Liaison Officers to resolve conflicts between maintenance schedules and ship operations.
Requirements:

To succeed in this challenging position, you will need:

  • A minimum of 5 years' experience leading maintenance teams and subcontractors in a Defence maritime environment.
  • Demonstrated expertise in shipboard maintenance practices and delivery of maintenance management systems within the Defence Maritime sector.
  • Strong knowledge of WHS regulations, with a commitment to leading safety initiatives and ensuring all work complies with State WHSE Acts and site safety requirements.
  • Proven ability to manage complex projects, with proficiency in project management software.
