Job Title: Maintenance Operations Manager

About the Role:

We are seeking a highly skilled Maintenance Operations Manager to lead our Smithfield manufacturing facility's maintenance department. The successful candidate will be responsible for driving operational efficiency, plant reliability, and team success in a dynamic environment dedicated to sustainable packaging solutions.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Health, Safety & Compliance: Ensure compliance with Visy's OHS, GMP, and risk management standards, championing a safety-first culture and implementing effective preventative measures.
  • Operational Efficiency: Plan and oversee preventive maintenance schedules, coordinate major repairs, and continuously improve maintenance processes to optimize uptime and productivity.
  • Inventory Management: Manage critical spares inventory effectively, ensuring availability for high-demand maintenance requirements.
  • Technical Leadership: Address skill gaps, strengthen team technical competencies, and provide guidance to the trades team, maintaining a high standard of performance and addressing non-compliance proactively.
  • Collaboration & Problem Solving: Work closely with cross-functional teams to identify and resolve issues affecting plant performance, implementing data-driven solutions to improve productivity and reliability.

Requirements:

  • A trade qualification as an Electrician or Fitter, with hands-on leadership experience, ideally within Corrugated, FMCG, or other manufacturing sectors.
  • A proven track record in maintenance team management, with a focus on continuous improvement and results-driven leadership.
  • Excellent communication and stakeholder engagement skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively with internal teams, suppliers, and contractors.
  • Strong organizational and planning abilities, with experience in optimizing maintenance practices and driving plant performance.

About You:

  • $120,000 - $150,000 per annum (salary range based on location and industry standards)
