Job Description

We are seeking an experienced Space Planning Expert to join our team. As a key member of our interior design team, you will work closely with clients to provide a comprehensive understanding of our interior and external products.

Your focus will be on ensuring customer satisfaction through guidance and quality support. You will work closely with clients from initial walk-through to selection and beyond, providing customized approach for selecting interior and external details, materials, colour selections, flooring selections, lighting/electrical, space planning, and detailing.

You will interpret client needs and complete detailed design concepts and contract documents. Your responsibilities will also include writing specifications covering interior design matters and performing code reviews. Additionally, you will provide on-the-spot pricing and estimating and work collaboratively and coordinate work with other disciplines.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Work closely with clients from initial walk-through to selection and beyond
  • Provide customized approach for selecting interior and external details, materials, colour selections, flooring selections, lighting/electrical, space planning, and detailing
  • Interpret client needs and complete detailed design concepts and contract documents

Required Skills and Qualifications

To succeed in this role, you will need the following skills and qualifications:

  • Commitment to providing excellence in customer service
  • Demonstrated design aesthetic and strong conceptual skills
  • Experience in colour consulting ideally within the residential building industry
  • Ability to read and understand floor plans and housing contracts
  • Certificate in Interior Design and Decoration or other relevant tertiary qualification
  • Demonstrated attention to detail and strong record keeping, planning, and organizing
  • Up-to-date knowledge of relevant legislation, codes, and industry trends
