About this Role
BeOne is seeking an experienced leader to join our team as Senior Manager EHS, based in Sydney. This position will lead Environmental, Health and Safety (EHS) for the Asia Pacific ('APAC') region, including Australia, New Zealand, Japan, South Korea, Singapore, Thailand, Malaysia, and emerging new markets.
The Job Description:
This Senior Manager EHS will be responsible for developing strategy and leading the implementation of all aspects of the local and global EHS programs according to jurisdictional requirements within the region. They will create partnerships with leaders and property management representatives to identify workplace safety and health risks and implement control measures that align with company initiatives.
The incumbent will consult with colleagues on day-to-day safety operations, emergency response procedures, ergonomics, risk assessments, incident reporting, and other EHS programs. They will serve as the focal point for Safety Awareness training and messaging, and oversee the safety committee.
Main Responsibilities:
- Develop and administer a proactive EHS management system and program.
- Lead the development of tracking, analysis, and assessment of global EHS metrics and advise management on company impacts and improvements.
- Provide expert advice on WHS-related matters, emerging issues, and impacts to the organization.
- Oversee the region-wide accident and incident investigation process, excluding manufacturing, and implement corrective and preventive actions.
- Play an active role in the Global EHS team and proactively lead the risk management process for the region.
- Lead the workers' compensation and return-to-work program, assist in regulatory reports, and play a key role in emergency response planning and incident response.
What You Bring:
- Prior experience in developing and implementing a strategy for a safety management system across APAC.
- Inclusive leadership skills to achieve desired results in a highly matrixed work environment and a proven track record of exceeding stakeholder expectations.
- Capability to establish partnerships, strategically lead and manage sensitive safety-related investigations, and provide recommendations for resolution and mitigation of future safety risks.
- Dedication to the principle of integrity and ethical behavior, working collaboratively with stakeholders, being accountable, having sound judgment, excellent analytical and problem-solving skills, and delivering practical solutions.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills, innovation in developing cost-effective solutions, a growth mindset around continuous learning and professional development, and ability to lead and motivate a team.
Required Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree preferred; 10+ years EH&S management experience, both strategic and operational.
- Excellent knowledge and experience in understanding and implementing requirements for WHS legislation, Global Standards, Codes of Practice, and guidance for Australia and at least some of the following APAC countries - New Zealand, Japan, South Korea, Singapore, Thailand, and Malaysia.
- Experience in developing and implementing a compliant safety management system and environmental initiatives highly desirable.
- Demonstrated leadership experience and capabilities, ability to lead and motivate a team, and strong planning and execution, organizational skills and attention to details.
