Job Summary

We are seeking an experienced Safety Manager to join our team. As a key member of our organization, you will play a critical role in ensuring the effective implementation of our safety management systems. The successful candidate will have a proven track record in driving safety outcomes and promoting a positive safety culture.

Responsibilities

  • Act as a trusted advisor to our leadership team, providing expert guidance on safety-related matters and initiatives.
  • Lead a team of safety professionals, fostering collaboration and customer focus to deliver high-quality services and support.
  • Ensure compliance with relevant rail safety legislation and regulatory requirements.
  • Develop and implement strategies to drive improved safety performance and reduce operational risks.
  • Analyse safety data to identify trends and areas for improvement, providing insights to inform decision-making.
  • Deliver high-quality reports on safety performance, highlighting key findings and recommendations.

Requirements

  • Tertiary qualifications in a related field (e.g., WHS, environmental management).

  • Extensive experience in civil and/or rail engineering activities and projects.
  • Proven ability to analyse management systems and interpret engineering codes.
  • Knowledge of Work, Health and Safety principles and relevant rail safety legislation.
  • Highly developed negotiation, influencing, analytical, problem-resolution, interpersonal, and written communication skills.
