Youth Development Specialist

Key Responsibilities:- Establish and maintain strong relationships with youth through mentorship and counselling, fostering a safe and inclusive environment for their growth.
- Design and implement engaging programs and activities that promote skill-building, leadership, and personal development, catering to diverse needs and interests.
- Collaborate with schools, community organizations, and stakeholders to enhance resources and support for youth, ensuring a comprehensive approach to their development.
- Advocate for the rights and needs of young individuals within the community, promoting their well-being and empowerment.
- Provide educational resources and conduct training sessions on relevant topics, equipping youth with the skills and knowledge necessary for success.
- Respond to crisis situations, offering immediate support and collaborating with appropriate authorities to ensure the well-being of young individuals.
- Maintain accurate records of interactions, assessments, and program outcomes, informing future initiatives and improvements.
- Work collaboratively with a multidisciplinary team to ensure a cohesive approach to youth development, leveraging collective expertise and resources.
- Bachelor's degree in social work, psychology, education, or a related field.
- Previous experience working with youth is preferred, with a strong understanding of their needs and challenges.
- Excellent communication, interpersonal, and organisational skills, with the ability to build trust and rapport with young individuals.
- Knowledge of community resources and social services, with a commitment to promoting positive youth development.
- Empathy, patience, and a genuine interest in promoting the well-being and empowerment of young people.
- Experience working with people with disabilities is an asset, with a willingness to adapt and accommodate diverse needs.
