Job Title: Financial Operations Specialist

This is a key role in supporting the effective financial management and compliance of externally funded research grants and contracts.


About the Role:
  • The successful candidate will be responsible for preparing accurate financial reports, acquittals, and certified statements in accordance with funding agreements, accounting standards, and university policies.

Key Responsibilities:
  1. Preparing accurate financial reports, acquittals, and certified statements in line with regulatory requirements.
  2. Providing timely, consistent, and reliable financial information to researchers, funding bodies, and internal stakeholders.
  3. Building strong relationships with Operational Finance, the Division of Research, and academic staff.
  4. Supporting continuous improvement in financial processes and contributing to a high-performing team environment focused on service, compliance, and accountability.

Requirements:
  • Tertiary qualification in a relevant discipline and progressing towards a CA or CPA Qualification and/or relevant professional sector experience.
  • Demonstrated experience in accounting processes, reporting, and analysing financial information, providing accurate advice, and delivering financial services.
  • High-level attention to detail and ability to deliver results in line with required deadlines and quality parameters.
  • Well-developed communication, interpersonal, and collaboration skills.
