Financial Operations Specialist

Our organisation is seeking an experienced Financial Operations Specialist to join our finance team.

This role will involve providing accurate and timely financial data entry, ensuring all records are up-to-date and correct. The specialist will utilise tools like Salesforce and QuickBooks to validate and cross-check data.

The Financial Operations Specialist will be responsible for cross-referencing financial records with bank statements and source documents to ensure accuracy and identify any discrepancies. They will also record and process donations in line with regulatory requirements and IJM policies.

The role involves maintaining detailed and accurate records to comply with audit standards and finance best practices. This includes monthly reconciliations and managing accounts payable and receivable tasks.

The Financial Operations Specialist will collaborate with internal stakeholders to implement and improve finance processes, providing recommendations to enhance efficiency and accuracy.

They will safeguard the confidentiality and security of financial and supporter information, adhering to organisational policies and regulations.

The successful candidate will have a minimum of 1-2 years of relevant experience, preferably in a similar role. They should be proficient in accounting software (e.g., QuickBooks) and Microsoft Office (Outlook, Excel, Word).

A good understanding of accounting principles and practices is essential, along with a professional qualification in accounting (Diploma, Certificate or Degree in Accounting, Business or Finance). Experience with Australian regulatory compliance and reporting frameworks for NGOs is desirable.
