">About the Role

As a key member of our project team, you will be responsible for delivering high-quality structural design deliverables. This includes ensuring that all deliverables are completed according to industry standards, checked, approved, and issued to other disciplines and stakeholders.

  1. Coordinate the activities of a project team to ensure time and budget objectives are achieved.
  2. Generate and review technical documents and deliverables, including specifications, design criteria, scope of work, and material take-off lists.
  3. Prepare engineering proposals and monitor budgets, staying within assigned limits and reporting any discrepancies.
  4. Complete tasks under minimal supervision, ensuring that objectives of cost, quality, and time are met.
  5. Maintain a high level of communication with project managers and engineers, regularly informing them of technical activities, staffing, budgets, and schedules.
  6. Contribute to the ongoing development of the Structural Engineering Team by applying knowledge of industry developments and best practices.
  7. Communicate effectively with clients to identify needs and evaluate alternative solutions.

Requirements

We are seeking an experienced professional with the following qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in structural engineering.
  • 10+ years' proven technical experience with an engineering consulting firm or large organization. Mining/construction experience is desirable.
  • Accreditation as a chartered engineer (or equivalent) or ability to obtain.
  • Strong design experience in brownfield environments highly desirable.
  • Demonstrated experience in client-facing project management roles, leading design teams to deliver project outcomes.
  • Demonstrated experience in the design of steel structures and concrete foundations for industrial and mining projects.
  • Enhanced knowledge of industry standard design codes.
  • Ability to mentor and support the development of structural engineers within the team.
  • Ability to work independently, as part of a team, and as part of a multidisciplinary group.
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills, both written and verbal.
