About the Role

This position entails leading structural design deliverables and coordinating project activities to meet time, budget, and quality objectives.

  1. Ensure that structural design deliverables are completed according to industry standards, checked, approved, and issued to relevant stakeholders with revision control documentation.
  2. Act as a client liaison to lead and coordinate project team activities to achieve timely and cost-effective outcomes.
  3. Generate and review technical documents and deliverables.
  4. Create specifications, design criteria, scope of work, and material take-off lists.
  5. Prepare engineering proposals and monitor budgets to ensure adherence to assigned parameters.
  6. Complete tasks under minimal supervision while meeting cost, quality, and time objectives.
  7. Maintain open communication with the Project Manager/Engineering Manager and provide regular updates on technical activities, staffing, budgets, and schedules.
  8. Contribute to the ongoing development of the Structural Engineering Team by applying knowledge of industry developments and best practices.
  9. Engage with clients to identify needs and evaluate alternative solutions.
About You
  1. Bachelor's degree in structural engineering.
  2. 10+ years' experience in technical roles within an engineering consulting firm or large organization, preferably with mining/construction background.
  3. Accreditation as a Chartered Engineer or ability to obtain.
  4. Experience in brownfield design highly desirable.
  5. Demonstrated leadership experience in client-facing project management roles, guiding design teams to deliver project outcomes.
  6. Demonstrated expertise in steel structure and concrete foundation design for industrial and mining projects.
  7. Familiarity with ISO, AS, ANSI, API standard design codes.
  8. Able to mentor and support structural engineers within the team.
  9. Ability to work independently and as part of a multidisciplinary team.
  10. Strong interpersonal and communication skills, both written and verbal.
