Senior Structural Engineer

We are seeking a highly skilled Senior Structural Engineer to join our multidisciplinary water team in Newcastle. The ideal candidate will have experience in the design engineering of water and wastewater treatment plants, reservoirs, hydraulic structures, pump stations and conveyance pipelines.

  • This role requires reviewing design requirements, conducting site investigations, performing calculations, modeling, overseeing drafting, and preparing reports and specifications.
Key Responsibilities:
  • Review and develop structural designs for water and wastewater treatment plants, reservoirs, and other hydraulic structures.
  • Conduct site investigations and perform calculations to determine structural integrity and safety.
  • Maintain relationships with clients to understand their needs and provide solutions.
  • Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to deliver projects on time and within budget.
Requirements:
  • Bachelor's degree in civil (structural) engineering or related field.
  • A minimum of 10 years' experience in water and wastewater treatment and/or conveyance design.
  • Knowledge of safety in design, constructability, and operational practices and relevant Australian standards and WSAA codes.
  • Strong problem-solving skills and ability to collaborate across a multidisciplinary team.
  • Well-developed written and verbal communication skills to interact with a broad range of audiences.
