Maintenance Fitter

About the Role:

This is a challenging and rewarding opportunity to join our team as a Maintenance Fitter. You will be responsible for carrying out preventative maintenance of plant and equipment, adhering to manufacturer recommendations to ensure safety, product quality, and production efficiency.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Conduct preventative maintenance on plant and equipment, adhering to manufacturer recommendations.
  • Plan, schedule, and organize tasks independently, coordinating with other team members as necessary.
  • Execute emergency work orders promptly and provide troubleshooting expertise to minimize downtime.
  • Fit and assemble fabricated metal parts and subassemblies, ensuring accuracy and proper fit using precision measuring instruments.
  • Set up and operate machining tools, including cutting, grinding, and drilling, to form metal stock and castings to fine tolerances.
  • Diagnose faults and perform operational maintenance, overhauling and repairing mechanical parts and fluid power equipment.
  • Cut, thread, bend, and install hydraulic and pneumatic pipes and lines.
  • Provide daily feedback and reports on work progress, identifying delays and suggesting improvements to eliminate future issues.
  • Supervise apprentices and contribute to a positive team environment, participating in Safety Tool Box Meetings and maintaining a safe workplace.
  • Maintain flexibility in work hours, including providing shift cover and responding to after-hours breakdowns as needed.
