Job Title: Cloud Infrastructure Strategist

Role OverviewThe position of Cloud Infrastructure Strategist is pivotal in shaping our organization's cloud computing strategy, leading the design and implementation of cloud-based infrastructure solutions that support digital transformation. Main Responsibilities

  • Design and implement scalable, secure, and high-performing cloud-based infrastructure solutions to support our digital transformation strategy.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to gather requirements, assess current systems, and recommend cloud-based solutions.
  • Migrate on-premises applications to the cloud with minimal disruption to operations.
  • Oversee the operation and optimization of the cloud environment, ensuring availability, performance, cost-efficiency, and security.
  • Stay current with emerging technologies and industry trends, providing strategic recommendations to drive innovation.
  • Create and maintain reference architectures, patterns, and standards to guide cloud adoption and infrastructure development.
  • Provide thought leadership and mentorship to internal teams, building cloud competencies across the organization.
  • Promote best practices and knowledge sharing for cloud infrastructure to empower teams and ensure consistent adoption.
  • Define and track key metrics to measure cloud adoption, performance, security posture, and business value.

Requirements

  • Unrestricted working rights in Australia.
  • Education in computer science, information technology, or a related field.
  • At least 7 years' experience in infrastructure roles and 3+ years in architecture within complex environments.
  • Proven expertise in cloud platforms, particularly Microsoft Azure, with strong working knowledge of AWS or Google Cloud, and experience across IaaS, PaaS, and SaaS models.
  • Deep understanding of cloud architecture frameworks (e.g., Microsoft Well-Architected Framework), cloud security best practices, and technologies including virtualization, networking, and containerization (Docker, Kubernetes).
  • Strong analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills, with a collaborative approach and comfort working in Agile environments.
  • Relevant certifications such as Microsoft Certified: Azure Solutions Architect Expert are highly regarded.
