Job Title

Cloud Infrastructure Strategist

This role is responsible for designing and implementing secure, efficient hybrid infrastructure environments that seamlessly integrate on-premises and cloud resources. The ideal candidate will have a deep understanding of IT infrastructure architecture and operations in a hybrid cloud configuration, with experience in translating business requirements into technical designs.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Develop and maintain enterprise architecture artifacts, including IT strategy and roadmaps for transitioning workloads to cloud services and decommissioning on-premises infrastructure.
  • Provide architectural leadership and ensure alignment to our enterprise IT strategy across various projects and stakeholders.
  • Design resilient, scalable, secure, and cost-effective infrastructure solutions connecting on-premise, Azure, M365, and D365 platforms.
  • Collaborate with vendors and partners to ensure new technology services are delivered according to our standards, meet security requirements, and integrate with existing services.
  • Work with product teams and procurement to evaluate and select emerging technology services to meet new business requirements and capabilities.

Requirements:

  • Significant experience in Information Technology with a deep understanding of IT infrastructure architecture and operations in a hybrid cloud configuration.
  • Good understanding and experience of networking, security, and best practices for both on-premises and cloud environments.
  • Experience in translating business requirements for resilience, recoverability, performance, cost, and security to technical designs.
  • In-depth knowledge of networking concepts, including traffic management, secure access service edge, virtual networks, network security groups, Azure Firewall, Express Route Private Peering.
  • Expertise in designing and integrating on-premises infrastructure components, including servers, networking (routing, switching, firewalls, load balancing, name resolution), and storage solutions (SAN, NAS).
  • Good knowledge of Active Directory and Group Policy.
  • Solid understanding of Australian government security frameworks, including the Protective Security Policy Framework, Essential 8, and Information Security Manual.
