A Business Partner for Human Resources
Job Description:
The role of a Business Partner in Human Resources is crucial in implementing people strategies and leading the HR function across a growing business. Located in Brisbane, Queensland, this position supports operations across both Queensland and New South Wales, providing end-to-end HR support including Industrial Relations, Employee Relations, and the full employee lifecycle.
This role requires someone who can provide high-level advice, coaching, and support on complex ER / IR challenges and practices.
Key Responsibilities include acting as a point of escalation and resolution for HR-related queries, challenges, and requests from internal and external stakeholders, managing employee-related investigations, and developing project HR services that align with business needs.
Other Responsibilities include supporting the development of HR strategies, focusing on continuous improvement in line with business retention and development plans, leading workforce planning, succession, and talent initiatives aligned to business strategy, and acting as a trusted advisor on performance and conduct.
Requirements:
Required Skills and Qualifications include extensive HR experience: over 5 years as an HR Business Partner in complex, operational environments, particularly with blue-collar workforces.
Specialist knowledge in IR / ER is required, along with deep expertise in Industrial and Employee Relations across sectors like construction, mining, transport, and heavy industries.
Strong understanding of Australian employment law, including NES, Modern Awards, and EBAs, is also necessary.
Strategic and generalist HR skills are required, as well as proven ability to deliver both strategic HR initiatives and hands-on support across the full employee lifecycle.
Change and stakeholder management skills are essential, including leading organisational change, influencing senior stakeholders, and navigating ambiguity.
Strong interpersonal skills are also required, including a collaborative, consultative approach, excellent coaching, communication, and problem-solving abilities.
