Senior Payroll Specialist Role
This is an exciting opportunity for a seasoned Senior Payroll Specialist to join our payroll team in the southern suburbs of Brisbane. The successful candidate will have a strong background in payroll and experience in a similar role within a medium-volume environment.
About the PositionThe Senior Payroll Specialist will be responsible for delivering accurate, timely, and compliant end-to-end payroll services for a large and diverse workforce. Key responsibilities include:
- End-to-end payroll processing for a medium-volume workforce in line with Fair Work, ATO, and superannuation requirements
- Prepare, reconcile, and distribute payroll payments and reporting on a fortnightly cycle
- Manage complex payroll queries and provide high-quality customer service to staff
- Interpret and apply enterprise agreements, awards, and government policies
- Oversee payroll system administration, including Time & Attendance platforms
- Support month-end and year-end payroll reconciliations and audits
- Coach and mentor payroll officers, promoting accuracy and compliance
- Contribute to payroll system enhancements and process improvement initiatives
The ideal candidate will have demonstrated experience in a Senior Payroll Officer or Payroll Officer role within a medium-volume environment. They will possess a strong working knowledge of payroll legislation, taxation, and superannuation requirements, as well as proven ability to interpret enterprise agreements and apply them accurately.
