Payroll Manager OpportunityJob Overview

This role involves managing the payroll process for a growing organization. As the Payroll Manager, you will oversee weekly payroll processing for approximately 200 company staff, with projected growth to 300 in the next 12 months.

You will be responsible for preparing PAYG, Payroll Tax, WorkCover, Portable Redundancy Fund, Long Service Leave, and Superannuation returns and payments. Additionally, you will interpret complex awards and EBAs, calculate and process termination payments, and manage payroll-based adjustments such as back pays and taxation requirements.

Key Responsibilities
  • Manage end-to-end weekly payroll processing for up to 300 employees
  • Prepare and submit various payroll-related returns and payments
  • Interpret complex awards and employment contracts
  • Calculate and process termination payments
  • Manage payroll-based adjustments
  • Perform regular internal audits
  • Administer time and attendance systems
  • Provide accurate information to employees and senior stakeholders
Requirements
  • Minimum 5 years experience in end-to-end weekly payroll processing
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Proven process improvement initiatives
  • Ability to work under pressure to meet deadlines
  • Extensive knowledge of payroll legislation and compliance
  • Experience interpreting multiple awards/EBAs/employment contracts
  • Scheduled and ad-hoc payroll reporting experience
