About the Role

Tesla Energy is seeking a highly skilled Quality Assurance Specialist to join our team. As a Quality Assurance Specialist, you will play a critical role in ensuring the quality and reliability of our energy systems.

Key Responsibilities
  • Failure Analysis: Conduct thorough failure analysis to identify root causes of downtime in our energy fleet, including troubleshooting, identifying root causes, and resolving power electronics hardware, software, and firmware issues.
  • Logistics Coordination: Work with logistics teams to prioritize shipping of field returns to regional service centers or engineering headquarters.
  • Hardware Teardown: Coordinate hardware teardown of power converters in the Service Engineering lab with assistance from technicians.
  • Data Analysis: Mine fleet data to identify failures, define the fingerprint for a failure mode, and utilize Tesla automation tools to programmatic diagnosis and react to future occurrences of that failure mode.
  • Procedure Development: Define and publish the actions that need to be taken by the field service and technical support teams when a specific failure mode occurs, and develop any specialized training required to complete those actions.
  • Signal Data Analysis: Analyze signal data from telemetry logs on specific fielded units to determine if a component is damaged.
  • Process Improvement: Quantify the benefit of a product or manufacturing improvement opportunity and work within these teams to implement the improvement for existing and future products as appropriate.
  • Corrective Action: Drive corrective actions through the Design and Manufacturing teams and champion the deployment of containments to the global fleet of energy products.
Requirements
  • Education: Bachelor's degree in Electrical or Electronic Engineering.
  • Technical Skills: Strong engineering fundamentals and intuition, applied to firmware/software-enabled mechatronic systems. Experience using Python, SQL, or equivalent for data analysis.
  • Soft Skills: Excellent oral, written communication, and collaborative skills. Proven ability to work independently and achieve results, remaining flexible and responsive to changes in requirements.
  • Quality Focus: Quality conscious with an attention to detail.
  • Travel Requirements: Work travel is expected in this role, including traveling interstate and, if required, abroad.
