Reliability Engineer

The RoleThis is a 12-month fixed-term contract position with a view to extension, reporting to the OS Reliability Superintendent. As a Reliability Engineer, you will provide specialist advice, execute analysis, and benchmarking of the Maintenance function's end-to-end processes. Your primary objective is to ensure optimal reliability of mobile and fixed plant assets, adhering to maintenance plans and statutory requirements.
Key Responsibilities- Define reliability problems through data analysis, root cause analysis, and stakeholder engagement to recommend improvements.
- Apply project management skills to drive delivery of work, ensuring timely and effective execution.
- Develop reliable and cost-effective action plans that comply with internal and external customer demands to increase machine reliability and avoid failures.
- Perform analysis of end-to-end work processes, master data, work instructions, and organization design to identify inefficiencies in work execution.
- Support the team in performing detailed analysis of condition monitoring data, initiating maintenance strategies, and changes to mitigate emerging risks.
- Take ownership of equipment reliability by supporting synergies between site teams and corporate functions.
- Provide progress reports on implementation and other BOS tools with each deployment.
- Develop front-line capabilities through the adoption and application of best practices to achieve high performance through diagnosis, planning, coaching, and execution practices.

- Ability to identify opportunities to increase value and eliminate hazards, waste, and variability from work processes and practices.
- Strong problem-solving skills with a collaborative approach to finding practical solutions.
- Tertiary or trade qualifications in maintenance and/or engineering disciplines, with demonstrated practical experience focused on mobile equipment in the mining industry.
- Project management skills, with high-level skills in MS Office.
- Ability to understand production/maintenance (systems) data.
- Ability to engage with all levels of the business from frontline employees to senior management.
- Knowledge of condition monitoring techniques.
- Experience developing and managing maintenance strategies in mobile/fixed equipment in mining and understanding of SAP Master Data.
- Understanding of defect elimination and experience in conducting RCA's (root cause analysis).
- Ability to work collaboratively with team members and other stakeholders to deliver safety, process optimization, improvements, and downtime eliminations.
