Reliability Engineer Specialist

About the Role
As a Specialist Reliability Engineer, you will provide technical support to the Maintenance team by applying Reliability Centred Maintenance principles. Your role will be to drive defect elimination, improvement initiatives, and identify opportunities to support safe and reliable operations.
Key Responsibilities
- Align with BHP Charter Values and Our Code of Business Conduct;
- Support safety leadership by contributing to the Field Leadership program;
- Build business partnerships and maintain strong working relationships with key stakeholders;
- Support reliability improvements and defect elimination in the end-to-end maintenance system;
- Analyse performance metrics and benchmark performance across the site and other BHP businesses;
- Develop and optimise maintenance strategies to maximise plant safety, reliability, and performance;
- Develop and increase the capability of the maintenance execution team;
- Closely monitor equipment performance and complete targeted root cause analysis;
- Provide coaching to the maintenance execution team;
- Work closely with other functions within the organisation;
- Deliver root cause analysis and failure type reviews.
Requirements
- Mechanical & Reliability industry experience in Maintenance or Degree qualified in Mechanical/Mechatronics/Electrical or Structural Engineering;
- Strong proven work experience in a similar role;
- Ability to influence, engage, and communicate with stakeholders effectively;
- Strong problem-solving skills with a collaborative approach;
- Ability to define and manage projects from conception to completion;
- High-level experience with Microsoft Office Applications and SAP;
- Ability to apply management of change and risk principles;
- Willingness and ability to learn and adapt to change;
- Experience as a Reliability Engineer or Maintenance Engineer within the mining industry is highly advantageous.
