Community Engagement Specialist

We are seeking an individual to coordinate community engagement and implement the 5 Year Access & Inclusion Plan.

The role involves building meaningful relationships within the area to service and support community needs, including people with disability, Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander, multicultural people, international students and LGBTIQ+ individuals.

This position requires research and analysis of local community needs, developing programs to address these needs, and collecting data to evaluate and report on the impact of community programs.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Evaluate and enhance services and activities to ensure compliance with funding, legal, and contractual arrangements.
  • Collaborate with local stakeholders to identify and respond to community needs and emerging issues.
  • Develop and maintain strategic partnerships with community organisations.
  • Provide information, advice, and educational activities for the community.
  • Collect and record information related to community programs to support continuous improvement.

Essential Requirements:

  • Understanding of community development principles and government priorities.
  • Passion to support a community development process.
  • Experience using evidence-based practices to address community needs.
  • Leadership skills to implement community development activities.
  • Excellent communication and reporting skills.
  • Current First Aid and CPR qualifications.
  • Working with Children's check and National Police check.

Desirable Requirements:

  • Undergraduate and/or postgraduate degree in Community Development or related fields.
  • Previous experience in a similar role is desirable.
