Our company is seeking a highly skilled and experienced legal professional to join our dynamic team as Legal Counsel. The ideal candidate will have a strong understanding of energy or infrastructure transactions in Australia, excellent stakeholder management skills, and the ability to influence outcomes.

Job Description

As a Legal Counsel, you will play a key role in supporting the development and implementation of our company's strategic initiatives. You will be responsible for leading and supporting the negotiation, drafting and review of commercial contracts, advising on land acquisitions, planning approvals and general commercial matters, providing support and managing external counsel, and advising on regulatory matters.

You will work closely with our General Counsel to develop precedent contracts, adopt new processes and deliver training to the team. The successful candidate will thrive in a dynamic and evolving environment, be collaborative, adaptable and self-motivated, and possess strong problem-solving, commercial and communication skills.

Required Skills and Qualifications
  • Admitted as a lawyer in Australia
  • Practising as a projects or energy lawyer for 4-8 years in private practice or in-house
  • Strong understanding of energy or infrastructure transactions in Australia
  • Proven stakeholder management skills and the ability to influence outcomes
  • Collaborative, adaptable and self-motivated
  • Strong problem-solving, commercial and communication skills
