We are seeking a seasoned lawyer to join our team and provide expert legal advice on renewable energy transactions and projects.
This is an exciting opportunity for a highly qualified professional to advise on a range of commercial matters, including:
- EPC contracts, supply and install contracts, balance of plant contracts, PPAs/offtake agreements, connection agreements, and O&M agreements, and advising on risk management activities
- land acquisitions and planning approvals
- general commercial contracts and matters, including NDAs, consultancy agreements, services agreements, disputes
The successful candidate will have:
- Fully qualified experience with 4+ years PQE
- Demonstrated expertise providing advice on energy or infrastructure projects in Australia
- Experience in large or specialised law firm and/or experience in-house at an energy or infrastructure company
- Demonstrated ability advising on regulatory matters, including FIRB, Australian Financial Services Licences, Critical Infrastructure, Anti-Money Laundering and Counter-Terrorism Finance
- Proven ability to prioritise and progress legal matters, escalate issues where needed, and ensure all decision makers are identified and briefed as appropriate
- Capability to manage external legal advisers, including managing the allocation of resources and skills between internal and external counsel and ensuring consistent, cost-effective legal support
- Demonstrated commitment to driving continual improvement across the business by assisting with the design and use of precedent contracts, adopting new processes with a focus on simplification, and delivering training to the team.
- Strong communication skills with the ability to adjust messages for a range of audiences
- Ability to influence outcomes independent of hierarchy
- Strong conceptual thinking/strategic analysis skills
- Ability to apply legal and business experience to appropriately prioritise effort and characterise risk
- Flexibility to handle a diverse range of matters across all Business Units
