Job Overview

We are seeking a seasoned legal professional to join our team as an in-house counsel. This role offers an exciting opportunity to be part of a dynamic organization that is accelerating the transition to net zero energy.

As in-house counsel, you will provide critical support to our business units, advising on a range of commercial matters, including:

  • EPC contracts, supply and install contracts, balance of plant contracts, PPAs/offtake agreements, connection agreements, and O&M agreements
  • Land acquisitions and planning approvals
  • General commercial contracts and matters, including NDAs, consultancy agreements, services agreements, disputes
Key Responsibilities
  • Provide expert legal advice on energy and infrastructure projects in Australia
  • Assist with the development of precedent contracts and adoption of new processes to improve efficiency and reduce costs
  • Manage external legal advisers and allocate resources effectively
  • Develop and implement risk management strategies to mitigate potential risks
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to drive business growth and improvement
Requirements
  • Fully qualified lawyer with 4+ years PQE
  • Demonstrated experience providing advice on energy or infrastructure projects in Australia
  • Experience in large or specialized law firms and/or experience in-house at an energy or infrastructure company
  • Demonstrated ability advising on regulatory matters, including FIRB, Australian Financial Services Licenses, Critical Infrastructure, Anti-Money Laundering and Counter-Terrorism Finance
  • Strong communication skills and ability to influence outcomes independent of hierarchy
  • Ability to prioritize and progress legal matters and manage multiple tasks simultaneously
