Job Opportunity: Plant Automation Technician

We are seeking an experienced automation professional to join our team as a Plant Automation & Control Technician at our Railton site in Tasmania.

About the Role:

  • Provide critical troubleshooting support to the site's electrical maintenance and engineering teams.
  • Influence continuous improvement, mentor others, and contribute to the site's long-term operational excellence.
  • Ensure systems, processes and controls are in place to achieve and maintain HSE critical elements.
  • Administer and maintain process control systems to ensure optimal performance, availability, and effective communication with stakeholders.
  • Design, develop, and implement automation solutions that improve plant reliability, efficiency, and cost-effective operations.
  • Support plant capital projects through design and integration expertise.

Requirements:

  • A Bachelor of Engineering, Certificate IV in Industrial Control and Automation and/or hold an Australian Electrical Licence.
  • Experience using and programming PLCs and SCADA (Siemens S7 Series, Citect and ABB 800XA SCADA systems highly desirable).
  • Good Microsoft Office suite skills and strong written and verbal communication skills.
  • Demonstrated commitment to safety as a way of life.
