Transition to Mental Health Nursing Program

Are you a registered nurse looking to transition into mental health nursing? We have an exciting opportunity for you

This 11-month program offers a unique chance to gain valuable experience in mental health nursing, working with a multidisciplinary team and supporting consumers to meet their recovery goals. You will complete two six-month rotations across multiple services within the Mental Health, Drugs and Alcohol Service in the Geelong and Barwon South West region.

Key Features:
  • Complete 2 six-month rotations across multiple services within the Mental Health, Drugs and Alcohol Service
  • Individual and group supervision
  • Support from preceptors, clinical staff, managers and educators


As a participant in this program, you will develop your skills and knowledge in mental health nursing, working closely with experienced clinicians and having access to a range of resources and support. This is a great opportunity to launch or further your career in mental health nursing

Upon completion of the program, you will be well-equipped to take on leadership roles or continue to work as a specialist mental health nurse. You will also have the opportunity to contribute to the development of mental health care services in your local community.
