Registered Psychiatric Nurse (Grade 2)
About the RoleThis position is available to Registered Nurses who have experience working as a nurse and are choosing to transition to a mental health setting.
The Transition to Mental Health Nursing Program (TTMHNP) is an innovative 11-month program that includes two six-month rotations across multiple services within the Mental Health, Drugs and Alcohol Service in the Geelong and Barwon South West region.
During this program, you will gain valuable experiences to enhance your future career prospects and work with consumers to meet their recovery goals. You will consider the person's physical, psychological, social, and spiritual needs, within the context of the individual's lived experience and in partnership with their family, significant others, and the broader community.
You will also have the opportunity to complete postgraduate studies in mental health nursing following the TTMHNP.

Barwon Health provides care at all stages of life and circumstance. Services available through Barwon Health cover the full spectrum from primary care, community services, aged care, rehabilitation, mental health, emergency, and acute care.
We provide integrated and recovery-oriented mental health, drugs, and alcohol assessment, treatment, and community support to people of all ages within the Barwon region experiencing or at risk of experiencing mental health and drug & alcohol issues, and their families.
