Mobile Equipment Maintenance Technician

Our team of skilled fitters are responsible for the maintenance and repair of a range of equipment, including excavators, trucks, graders and dozers. Located at our Wilpinjong mine, which is situated approximately 58 kilometres northeast of Mudgee, this role offers a unique opportunity to work in a dynamic and rapidly expanding industry.
Mining is undertaken using a variety of machinery, including CAT 789, 793, 785 and Terex MT400 trucks, CAT 16M & 14M graders, CAT D10 and D11 dozers and Liebherr 9350, 9400 and CAT 6060 excavators. The successful candidate will have experience in maintaining and servicing these types of equipment and be able to work effectively in a fast-paced environment.
The position involves working as part of a team of experienced leading hands and supervisors, who provide guidance and support to ensure that all work is completed to a high standard. As a key member of our team, you will be responsible for completing planned and unplanned maintenance of Peabody mining equipment, and will generally be split into workshop or field-based maintenance sections.
Key Responsibilities:
- Perform repairs, maintenance, and inspections on mobile machinery to ensure optimal working condition;
- Prioritise and undertake specified and/or general work to the required standard and within timeframes;
- Work with the planning and scheduling teams to assist us in increasing our lofty reliability and availability targets;
- Maintain a safe, clean and healthy work environment;
- Participate in and complete shift change, site meetings, communications or reporting requirements to the required standard;
- Actively engage in the Continuous Improvement Program;
- Compliance with site Safety and Health Management system requirements (for example risk management, SOPs, permits, work instructions etc.).

About You:
- Experience in maintaining and servicing excavators, off-highway trucks, graders, dozers, loaders, and drills;
- Australian recognised Trade Certificate - Plant Mechanic, Automotive Heavy Vehicle, Diesel Mechanic, Heavy Duty Trade Qualification / Heavy Vehicle Mobile Equipment / Plant Mechanic Certificate III Heavy or similar;
- Knowledge of conducting safety inspections and completing JSEAs, risk assessments and permits;
- Excellent diagnostic and repair skills;
- A commitment to be an effective team player, including having a positive attitude;
- Ability to coordinate multiple stakeholders to ensure jobs are completed on time and to a quality standard;
- Strong problem solving skills and attention to detail;
- A champion, safety-focused mindset demonstrated by proactively promoting safety protocols and procedures, creating a safe work environment for your crew mates, and ensuring compliance with safety regulations;
- Forklift, Dogging and Working at Heights desirable.
