About the Role

Canberra Grammar School is seeking expressions of interest from passionate and highly competent Visiting Music Teachers interested in joining our Music Department.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Deliver high-quality music lessons to students of various ages across our Primary and Senior Schools.
  • Prepare students for their recitals and other performance opportunities within the school calendar.
  • Teach a range of instruments, including Violin, Viola, Cello, Double Bass, Electric Guitar, Classical Guitar, Singing, Piano, Flute, Clarinet, Oboe, Bassoon, Saxophone, Trumpet, Trombone, French Horn, Tuba, Percussion, Organ, and Bagpipes.

Requirements:

  • Previous experience teaching the Australian Music Examinations Board (AMEB) syllabus.
  • Demonstrated recent participation in masterclasses, public recitals, and/or performances.
  • Experience in one-on-one and group lessons.
  • Administrative and organisational skills.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to work collaboratively with other staff members, parents, and students.
  • Public liability insurance and an Australian Business Number (ABN).
