About the Role

This is a key leadership position within the Independent Parliamentary Expenses Authority (IPEA), responsible for overseeing the administration and service delivery of travel-related expenses for federal parliamentarians and their staff.

Key Responsibilities
  • Oversight and administration of travel-related expenses for parliamentarians and their staff, valued at over $70 million.
  • Reviewing and drafting travel-related advice based on the Parliamentary Business Resources Act (PBR) framework for parliamentarians and their staff.
  • Administration and payment of travel expense or allowance claims for parliamentarians and their staff.
  • Development, maintenance, and delivery of the IPEA education program, including travel throughout Australia as needed.
  • Supporting business-led implementation and enhancement of the Parliamentary Expenses Management System (PEMS).
  • Leading short-term projects in support of TEA Branch functions, such as client satisfaction surveys and procurement.
Requirements
  • Demonstrated strong experience leading diverse teams to deliver high-quality services.
  • Strong experience managing relationships with internal and external stakeholders.
  • Knowledge of the PEMS ICT system or ability to quickly acquire it.
  • Ability to contribute to and form part of an executive team within a small integrity-focused independent agency.
