Job Summary:

We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate Personal Care Assistant to join our team. As a Personal Care Assistant, you will play a vital role in enabling individuals to maintain their independence and quality of life.

  • Key Responsibilities:
  • Assist with daily personal care tasks such as bathing, dressing, and grooming, ensuring the highest level of dignity and respect for all clients.
  • Encourage and support clients in developing coping mechanisms and promoting their overall well-being.
  • Administer medications as per the client's care plan, under the guidance of a Registered Nurse.
  • Apply medical aids as required, demonstrating a commitment to providing exceptional care.
  • Record and document all interactions and observations in the client's file, maintaining accurate and comprehensive records.
  • Communicate effectively with the Registered Nurse, sharing any changes or concerns regarding client health, environment, or well-being.
  • Seek clarification on delegated roles and responsibilities from the Registered Nurse, ensuring seamless collaboration and care coordination.

Requirements:

  • A high school diploma or equivalent is preferred; formal education or training in healthcare-related fields is an asset.
  • Previous experience working with vulnerable populations, preferably in a caregiving capacity, is essential.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build trust and rapport with clients and colleagues.
  • Basic computer literacy, with proficiency in recording and documenting client information.
  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively as part of a dynamic team.
