Support Worker

  • Assist with personal care: showering, grooming, toileting and hygiene needs
  • Support daily living skills such as cooking, cleaning, budgeting and financial planning
  • Provide transport to appointments, activities and social events
  • Offer emotional and social support and be a companion for clients
  • Administer medication safely and responsibly
  • Help with domestic duties including cleaning, laundry and meal preparation
  • Maintain accurate documentation using software applications
  • Work collaboratively with families, health professionals and other stakeholders
  • Ensure a safe and respectful environment at all times
Requirements

To be successful in this role, you will need:

  • Certificate III or IV in Disability, Individual Support or related field
  • A valid NDIS Worker Screening Check
  • Current First Aid and CPR certifications
  • A reliable vehicle, driver's licence and comprehensive insurance
  • A Working With Children Check or Vulnerable People Check (as applicable)
  • Fully vaccinated against COVID-19
  • A commitment to confidentiality, dignity and professional standards

You will also need to have:

  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills
  • Empathy, patience and a caring nature
  • The ability to work independently and as part of a team
  • Flexibility and reliability
  • Experience working with people with disabilities an advantage
