  • Job Description:
  • In this exciting role as an Electrical Design Expert, you will be responsible for leading the development of high-voltage electrical designs for transmission and distribution projects. You will work closely with our team of engineers and technical specialists to develop innovative solutions that meet the needs of our clients.
  • Key Responsibilities:
    • Develop and implement high-voltage electrical design strategies for transmission and distribution projects.
    • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to develop and review technical documentation, including design reports, equipment specifications, and interface documents.
    • Utilize expertise in primary substation elements, transmission lines, underground cables, and power system earthing design to ensure compliance with industry standards.
    • Support the high-voltage scope for Owner's Engineer and Technical Due Diligence projects.
    • Undertake reviews of designs and reports to ensure accuracy and quality.
    • Coach and mentor junior staff in electrical engineering and project delivery.
    • Lead design projects and coordinate with various disciplines, including Primary, SCADA, Power systems, structural, and drafting.
  • Required Skills and Qualifications:
    • Bachelor's Degree in Electrical Engineering or related field.
    • Typically 8-14+ years post-graduate experience in a consultancy environment.
    • Existing RPEQ/RPEV certification or ability to attain it is required.
    • Proven experience in EHV and HV electrical engineering from conceptual to detailed design in substations, cable systems, transmission & distribution utilities, or renewable energy projects.
    • Experience in secondary design, including protection, control, AC/DC systems, SCADA, and related studies.
    • Experience in client-facing roles, providing robust advice and support design projects through clear communication of project status, issues, and risks.
    • Proficient in proposal and report writing.
