Job Summary

We are seeking a skilled Plant Mechanic to join our team in the Newcastle Region.

The ideal candidate will have experience with new builds or machine rebuilds, and be familiar with Caterpillar or similar brand surface mining equipment.

The successful applicant will work closely with our experienced team to commission new machines or complete full overhauls.

They will follow each build through to delivery, ensuring everything runs smoothly and efficiently.

As a trusted expert in the field, the Plant Mechanic will diagnose, fine-tune, and support customers during the critical early stages of operation.

This is an opportunity to take ownership of the full process, backed by a fully equipped tool-of-trade vehicle and a collaborative, high-performing team.

Key Responsibilities
  • Serve as the primary onsite point of contact, addressing customer requirements and providing excellent customer service.
  • Coordinate onsite assembly and customisation of CAT machinery based on customer specifications.
  • Perform repairs, maintenance, and inspections on CAT machinery to ensure optimal working condition before handover.
  • Provide travel support, visiting various locations throughout Newcastle and the Hunter Region to offer field service assistance and address customer needs.
  • Liaise and coordinate with internal stakeholders to manage customer requests and machine requirements, ensuring a smooth and efficient delivery process.
