About the Role

We are seeking an experienced and skilled Senior Protection and Control Technical Officer to join our team at TasNetworks. This is a permanent full-time opportunity that offers a healthy remuneration and benefits package.

Key Responsibilities
  • Maintain TasNetworks Protection and Control Systems to ensure high-quality technical support to all relevant stakeholders.
  • Minimise business risk by identifying and addressing any existing deficiencies in protection and control assets.
  • Commission Protection, Control, and SCADA capital upgrades to TasNetworks standards and to the highest possible quality.
  • Ensure optimum asset reliability while meeting financial and business objectives.
  • Maintain safe work systems and control risk effectively.
About You

To be successful in this role, you will have extensive field experience in the maintenance and/or commissioning of protection and control assets, sound knowledge of EHV transmission and distribution protection, control, and SCADA assets. You will also be a champion for strong safety culture, have experience with preparing high-quality documentation, and high-level communication, motivation, negotiation, and leadership skills.

Requirements
  • Tertiary qualifications (degree or diploma) in Engineering, or relevant experience in protection and control.
  • Desirable – Electrical Practitioner's Licence or willingness to acquire.
