Job Title: Rail Sector Leader

We are seeking a seasoned professional to assume a leadership role in our rail sector team. As a Rail Sector Leader, you will be responsible for overseeing the daily operations of a crew tasked with clearing vegetation and conducting drainage maintenance works on the rail corridor from Wollongong to Nowra.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Supervise and coordinate the activities of a crew to ensure timely completion of tasks.
  • Work closely with the crew to remove vegetation and perform drain maintenance duties.
  • Coordinate scheduling duties and allocate resources efficiently.
  • Operate heavy machinery, including excavators and trucks, to support works.
  • Ensure all works are completed safely, within budget, and to quality standards.
  • Liaise with rail authorities to maintain smooth operations.
  • Conduct regular safety briefings, toolbox talks, and compliance checks to uphold a strong safety culture.

Requirements:

  • A minimum of 3 years' experience in supervisory roles within grounds maintenance, gardening, or labouring sectors.
  • Ability to travel extensively across the South Coast corridor.
  • Possession of a valid drivers' license and HR license (with a clean driving record).
  • RIW ticket is essential.
  • Commitment to maintaining a drug- and alcohol-free workplace environment.
  • White Card certification.
  • Desirable skills include excavator operation with a bucket and customer service/communication skills.
