Library Services Leader

We are seeking an experienced Library Services Leader to join our team in providing exceptional library services to the community at our Lalor Park branch. The successful candidate will lead a small team, delivering regular programs for children, providing community technology training sessions, managing stock, merchandising and display, and providing professional information and readers advisory services.

This role requires a hands-on librarian who welcomes opportunities for collaboration, change and improvement. The ideal candidate will have a strong commitment to customer service and excellent interpersonal and communication skills.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Develop and implement effective library services that meet the needs of the community
  • Lead a small team of librarians and support staff to deliver high-quality library services
  • Manage stock, merchandise and display to ensure a welcoming and engaging environment
  • Provide professional information and readers advisory services to the community
  • Deliver regular programs for children, including storytime and other activities

Requirements:

  • Degree in Library and Information Science or equivalent as recognised by the Australian Library and Information Association (ALIA)
  • Eligible for professional membership of ALIA
  • Solid library experience
  • Working with Children Check (WWCC)
