Job Opportunity

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced News Studio Pilot to join our team and contribute to the delivery of high-quality regional news content.

This role requires close collaboration with News Editors, Chiefs of Staff, Journalists, Camera Operators, and Presenters, with direct reporting to the Studio Team Leader.

The successful candidate will be responsible for preparing and delivering regional news content in partnership with editorial and studio teams.

Key responsibilities include:

  • Directing and switching live and pre-recorded bulletins, promos, and updates;
  • Providing clear guidance to crew members;
  • Contributing to pre-production planning;
  • Producing graphics;
  • Editing stories and promos using broadcast software and equipment.

In addition to these tasks, the candidate will be expected to uphold broadcast quality standards, troubleshoot technical issues, and ensure that studio facilities and equipment are production-ready at all times.

Active participation in team meetings, sharing ideas, and supporting continuous improvement of workflows are essential for this role.

To be successful in this position, you will need to possess strong organisational, problem-solving, communication, and interpersonal skills, with the ability to manage competing priorities under tight deadlines.

A tertiary qualification in media, production, journalism, or a related field is preferred.

A passion for broadcast television and live production, as well as strong problem-solving abilities and capacity to troubleshoot effectively, are also required.

You will need to have a strong technical aptitude and the ability to grasp technical concepts and processes quickly.
