Job Summary

We are seeking an experienced Health, Safety and Environment (HSE) professional to lead our national organisation.

  • Job Description:
  • This role will oversee the health, safety and wellbeing functions across our national organisation, ensuring compliance with regulatory requirements and industry standards.
  • The ideal candidate will have at least 15 years of experience in HSE roles, with a minimum of 5 years in senior leadership positions.
  • They will be responsible for maintaining an up-to-date knowledge of applicable regulations, providing specialist advice and guidance to senior leaders and frontline supervisors.
  • The successful candidate will also be responsible for leading, mentoring and developing a team of HSE professionals, fostering a high-performance culture and promoting employee wellbeing.
  • Key Responsibilities:
  • Maintain a deep understanding of occupational health and safety management principles and practices.
  • Conduct research, investigations and analysis to identify areas for improvement and develop effective solutions.
  • Develop and implement environmental strategies, policies, practices and action plans to ensure corporate sustainable development.
  • Lead the Wellbeing function in support of injury prevention, management and rehabilitation programmes.
  • Build strong relationships with stakeholders, contractors, suppliers and employees to drive step change in performance.
  • Requirements:
  • Demonstrated working knowledge of occupational health and safety management and an understanding of the underlying principles.
  • The ability to conduct research, investigate and analyse complex issues and engage with key stakeholders to identify course of action or changes.
  • Well-developed report writing and research skills.
  • Demonstrated skills and achievements in project management.
  • Experience in working with a diverse group of stakeholders.
  • Displays business and industry acumen understanding.
What You Will Need
  • At least 15 years of experience in HSE roles, with minimum of 5 in senior leadership
  • WHS - Formal qualifications are essential
  • Ability to lead and mentor a group of HSE professionals based around Australia
