About the Role

This position oversees all aspects of accounting and tax functions, ensuring compliance with Australian Accounting Standards and tax legislation. The incumbent will lead a high-performing finance team and drive strategic financial initiatives to support business growth and profitability.

Responsibilities
  • Accounting Leadership: Oversee general ledger management, month-end/year-end close processes, and preparation of annual and periodic financial statements.
  • Tax Management: Lead tax compliance activities, including income tax, GST, FBT, payroll tax, and liaise with external advisors to ensure adherence to ATO and other regulatory requirements.
  • Internal Audit: Establish and coordinate internal audit frameworks, conducting targeted audits and identifying gaps for corrective actions.
  • Internal Controls: Develop and maintain robust internal control frameworks to ensure accuracy, reliability, and integrity of financial data.
  • Digital Transformation & Innovation: Drive finance process optimization and digital transformation initiatives using automation, digital tools, and analytics.
  • Leadership & Team Development: Manage and mentor the accounting and tax team, building capability and accountability through coaching and training initiatives.
  • Strategic & Business Support: Collaborate with the CFO and executive leadership on strategic financial initiatives, providing guidance to support informed business decisions.
