Business Development Manager Job Overview

We are seeking a sales-driven and customer-focused Business Development Manager to promote our residential and commercial lending solutions to accredited mortgage brokers and referral partners.

This role involves managing and growing a portfolio of broker partners, supporting them from initial enquiry through to settlement, providing training, scenario support, and building long-term relationships.

Key Responsibilities
  • Identify, attract, and onboard new broker partners to grow our distribution footprint.
  • Achieve agreed sales targets and maintain strong relationships with existing brokers.
  • Provide technical support and credit scenario assistance to brokers, ensuring prompt responses.
  • Manage and monitor the applications and settlements pipeline, updating CRM systems and keeping brokers informed.
  • Organise training sessions, webinars, and networking events for brokers.
  • Stay up to date with our credit policies, product features, and system updates, ensuring brokers are informed.
  • Assist brokers with escalations, working closely with operations, credit, and compliance teams.
  • Analyse competitor offerings and market conditions to enhance our competitiveness.
  • Collaborate with Marketing to create campaigns and communications that drive brand awareness and loan volumes.
Requirements
  • Minimum 2–3 years' experience in mortgage broking, business development, or residential lending.
  • Experience with commercial or specialist lending is an advantage.
  • Strong understanding of mortgage aggregation, broker distribution, and lending products.
  • Knowledge of both prime and non-conforming lending markets and current property market trends.
  • Familiarity with relevant State and Federal lending regulations.
  • Proven relationship-building skills and ability to develop broker loyalty.
  • Strategic thinking and commercial acumen, with a proactive mindset.
